What We Do

Neighborhood Beautification

The beauty of the Country Club Neighborhood adds to home values, boosts neighborhood pride, and makes us a landmark in Lincoln. The Association is proud to support and coordinate a variety of activities each year to make our neighborhood a more beautiful place to live:

Trail Clean Up

The Rock Island Trail runs for nearly 7 miles through the city on a north–south corridor. The trail forms the east end of our neighborhood and is an important and popular path for our neighbors and visitors. Annual clean-up days by neighborhood volunteers help make this trail a pleasant experience for all users.

Neighborhood Care and Clean Up

Throughout the neighborhood, groups of neighbors work together to clean up trash, freshen landscaping, and care for our community spaces.

Tree Replacement and New Trees

Through the leadership of longtime neighbor Linda Wibbels, CCNA works closely with area government agencies and organizations to provide new street trees for planting throughout the neighborhood. Information on the next Street Tree Planting Program will be posted in the News section of this website when it is available.

The Association also recognizes the pending issues we will face with the arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), as many of our neighborhood streets are lined with ash trees. It is the desire of CCNA to address the ash trees before they become infected and hazardous. A plan is currently being developed in cooperation with city and extension personnel. Watch this website for updates on this developing situation.

Special Projects with City

The Association enjoys a strong working relationship with many departments in city government, thanks to years of partnerships on projects and programs. Recent beautification efforts that were completed in tandem with the City of Lincoln include:

  • Establishment of Ornamental Lighting Districts throughout the neighborhood, allowing for the addition of lower-level “acorn” style lighting to appropriately illuminate the neighborhood
  • CCNA representation throughout the design and reconstruction of the Penny Bridges, just west of 33rd Street on Sheridan Boulevard
  • Rehabilitation and landscaping of the Woodsdale Boulevards between 24th and 27th Street, thanks to the generosity of a neighborhood family that belongs to the CCNA
